Sara Ybarra Lopez and her partner Mark Twain Stevenson, together and individually, create artwork under our collective called Carapace Arts. We shape ideas to enfold within a durable (and sometimes transitory) medium, primarily metal–cast or fabricated. Our interests range from basic forces like gravity, plate tectonics, erosion and time, to fleeting events like dreams, politics, a child’s scribble, and the humorous turn of a phrase.
