Sarah Fitch

I am a self-taught artist making stoneware ceramic tiles and sculptures. My work is described as earthy folk art with a whimsical and spiritual essence. Inspired by nature, my aim is to create a sense of liveliness and delight in my animal themed creations. The tiles are highly detailed bas-relief. Plaster molds made from the original work allow for repeats of similar but not exact finish as each tile is made one at a time. They are stoneware fired to 2200F that makes nonporous and more durable than raku or terra cotta ceramics.
