Currently my work is divided between my semi-abstract vessel paintings and my whimsical birds.
The vessel paintings have a sense of order; there is no chaos. Varied shapes in size and color rely on texture and placement to tell their story, sparking a shift in the viewer’s focus and creating awareness in the beauty that surrounds us in the most mundane things.
While being entertained by the birds in my backyard bird bath, I began drawing with my new acrylic markers and these birds appeared. They make me laugh with their individual personalities. These birds eventually became a greeting card line and then expanded into larger paintings on paper.
