The City of Port Townsend Arts Commission (PTAC) has announced the 2024 Angel and Patron of the Arts awards. These awards recognize individuals, artist collectives, and businesses that significantly contribute to the cultural enrichment of Port Townsend. 

Join the community in celebrating Kate Dwyer, 2024 Angel of the Arts, and Tracy Grisman, 2024 Patron of the Arts, at the 25th Annual City Arts Awards October 3, 5:00 p.m. at the Cotton Building, 607 Water Street. 


“Both Kate and Tracy embody the celebration of art in our community, we are grateful to witness their rich examples of creative expression and honor our newest Angel and Patron of the Arts,” said PTAC Chair, Lindsey Royal Wayland.

The Angel and Patron of the Arts Awards took a pause in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. PTAC is excited to bring back the awards to celebrate these two deserving individuals along with the entire arts community. 

All are welcome to attend this free event, including an awards ceremony with Mayor David Faber, light refreshments, poetry by the City Poet Laureate, Conner Bouchard-Roberts, and a special announcement by Chair Wayland.

The Arts Commission’s mission is to facilitate public arts programs that enhance the cultural life of community residents. 

About the Awards:

The Angel of the Arts Award honors an individual or artist collective in any discipline whose efforts on behalf of local art have been outstanding. This award is given to a community member who has made significant contributions to the creation, production, or performance of works in any art form. 

The Patron of the Arts Distinction recognizes a business owner or community leader who has made a sustained and noteworthy contribution to the arts community over the past year.
