Performing Arts

Between the Port Townsend Film Festival, performances at Key City Public Theatre, THING Music Festival, the dozens of live music venues and the hundreds of local performing artists and musicians residing here, there are thousands of opportunities each year to soothe your soul.

Port Townsend is home to some of the best musicians in the world, and live music ranging from bluegrass to indie rock, gypsy jazz, traditional Brazilian choro and nearly every other genre imaginable can be found in normal times on a nightly basis. And as we emerge from the COVID pandemic, we can’t think of a better celebration than the return of live performances, concerts and theater.

Centrum’s summer festivals, including Jazz Port Townsend, the Acoustic Blues Festival and the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes are some of the most exquisite experiences a musician or appreciator could ever hope for.

Port Townsend Main Street’s Concerts on the Dock series held downtown at Pope Marine Plaza provides a free community concert each Thursday in July and August, with a beer, cider and wine garden and other vendors, bringing thousands of locals and visitors together each year.

Live Theatre is back at Key City Public Theatre in their beautifully renovated space.
Take in a movie at The Rose Theatre, Starlight Room and Uptown Theatre, all located within the Creative District. While you’re here, make sure to keep the dial tuned to KPTZ 91.9FM for authentic, eclectic, community radio.
