I am a mixed media artist in the full sense of the phrase: I make & take, use & re-use. I draw, paint, take photos, cut, grind, shape, paste, print, copy, erase, assemble, cut again, hammer, drill & repeat. I include natural objects in my work, & use translucency & light with acrylic and clear resin. I am influenced by nature, the state of the world, the state of my loved ones, and by the weight of the past, good & bad.
I rarely start with a detailed plan, instead I improvise & explore a shape, an idea or an image & embrace the element of surprise. Sometimes I work, sometimes I play until a plan develops for a finished piece.
