Thirty-nine artists from across the Pacific Northwest are represented in Small Expressions, the 23rd annual exhibition at the Northwind Art gallery in downtown Port Townsend. Their creations come in all manner of art media, from pinhole photography and block printing to papier-maché, handwoven fibers, oil pastels and one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. All are inside the parameters of 16 inches in any direction; more than 200 artworks are part of the show. Gallery doors are open 12 noon-5 PM Thursdays through Mondays (except Thursday, Nov. 28, when the gallery is closed for Thanksgiving). “Small Expressions” will also be celebrated during first-Saturday Art Walk from 5-8 PM on Dec. 7.
Small Expressions brings together 27 artists from Port Townsend and Jefferson County; the rest are from Seattle and environs, Kitsap and Clallam counties plus two from Oregon. Anna Moore of Port Townsend’s piece, “Glacier Rocks,” is winner of the Jurors’ Choice Prize; the three local artists who served as jurors are Jaiden Dokken, Shannon Kidd and Mitzi Jo Gordon.
