Opportunities for Artists

Washington State Youth Arts Leadership (WAYAL) Program

When: Entry deadline: July 11

What: Youth ages 16-19 (by October 2025) are invited to apply to this online-based program. WAYAL leaders work with the Arts in Education team at ArtsWA to explore and amplify the role of arts engagement in their communities. Youth may also be nominated by a teacher, mentor, or community member.

Port Townsend Film Festival Box Office Coordinator

When: July 15 – Sept 30

What: This temporary position serves as the primary customer service for pass and ticket sales of the Port Townsend Film Festival, working closely with the Community Relations Manager to facilitate open box office hours, effective sales, and technical assistance to patrons using the Eventive platform.

Northwest Expressions Art Show

Art for Change Prize

What: Art for Change invites emerging artists around the world in their first five years of active practice to create a piece of artwork with the theme “Tomorrow-ing: Visions of a Better Future.” A total prize fund of £20,000 will be split between six winners, five to receive £2,000, and one overall winner to receive £10,000.

Port Townsend Film Festival Internship

When: Jul 22 – Oct 4

What: Earn money while learning about film festivals and the film industry in this 11-week internship. This customer service role will play a crucial part in ensuring that all festival special guests have a positive and memorable experience throughout the Port Townsend Film Festival.

Artist Trust Endurance Grants

What: These funds offer unrestricted emergency need-based grants of $2,500 to artists working in all disciplines across Washington State to assist with an unforeseen emergency, crisis, or catastrophic event.

Entry Fee: Earn 60% of the revenue. 40% will be collected by Vespertine for staffing, operations, transaction fees, and sales tax if you are selling goods.

Tribal Cultural Grant

When: Application deadline Sept 30

What: This non-competitive grant offers funding for Washington State Federally-recognized Tribes to support Tribal communities as they expand, enhance, or create space for art and culture that is respectful and responsive to each community’s needs.
